Hannes Botha, an engineer by profession was given very limited time to live when he was diagnosed with cancer in March 2011. His church, friends, we at Bridge Ministries and his home cell group prayed without ceasing and trusted God for complete healing (see also post asking for prayer below!)
It has now been medically confirmed that Hannes is completely free of cancer. He is working again and also ministering to the children at Collage church in Elardus Park, Pretoria, South Africa, where his wife, Jonette, is also a pastor.
Ons 16 June 2012 Jonette will share their testimony on national Christian radio, Radio Pulpit on my programme “HospiVision”. Praise God with us for His miracle!
So far in 2012 more than 60 people have completed the “Learning to Steal” course in evangelism. People who never before led someone to receive Christ as Saviour now do so without feeling uncomfortable about it! More than 1000 people have attended this course and the reaction: “It’s amazing!” “So simple!” “So practical!”. This course is avaialable free of charge. Recently we presented a soul winning workshop “Learning to Steal” to some hospital ministry workers. After the final session, the workers (all volunteers at the hospital ministry HospiVision – see www.hospivision.org.za) all went into the hospital wards to visit and encourage patients. Within the hour one of the people we trained returned to the office to report that she had led 3 people to Christ as a result of her new found knowledge.
She reported that people are hungry to hear the message of salvation – they ask for it, urgently WANT it, and the worker was only to happy to oblige!
Recently a professor in chemistry who attended our soul winner’s training (“Learning to steal”) had an experience in Dubai. Having travelled extensively for his work, he was on his way back to South Africa and at the airport in Dubai, he sat down near to a lady. She shared with him of her heartache, divorce and told him how desperate she was. She had Googled the word “God” but it didn’t help much. The professor shared with her about having a personal relationship with Christ as compared to religion. She wept, and as her flight was called, she got up, turned to him and said “Before you came I was asking God, if He exists, to send someone to talk to me. He did.” Prof says he doesn’t know who was blessed more – he or the lady! He has mailed her a Bible. What an appointment; orchestrated by a living God for two people from different parts of the world to meet so that He can be met!
Solomon (left) works in a factory in Germiston. Eighteen months ago he came forward for prayer after a service. I prayed with him for his marriage and family that was falling apart. He dedicated himself to STUDYING scripture and sometimes still corners me with his very difficult theological questions. In the process his family relationships changed and two weeks ago he came and told me that he now has an amazing marriage and his children have never been so happy. God is what’s made the difference…

Our church, Collage, in Elardus Park, Pretoria, has asked us to adapt and present our soul winners training course 4 times per year in order to have people available to work with new converts. We have just completed the 4 week training course for the first 10 people. On the photo, I am busy training the people.
A start has been made to compile a team to help with new converts after altar calls. Use is being made of those who have completed the soul winning course “Deel jou volheid”

Training was also given to the group to help them to start a ministry or small fellowship group at work. We provided them with Radio Pulpit’s daily devotional booklets. (See picture – some of the group members who were trained)

Pastor Jonette Botha (left), co-presenter of our program on Radio Pulpit and her family are going through very tough times. Her husband is seriously ill and is receiving chemotherapy. Please pray for the family and also for healing of her husband, Hannes. She is at present unable to fulfill her broadcasting duties, and so we ask for prayer also for the program as we broadcast every Saturday at 3:30pm South African time (13:30 GMT). As I finished up leading a short church service at a factory, one of the managerial staff members accompanied me to the car. Emotionally he wiped a tear and told me that in in 40 years of work, this was the first time that an employer cared enough about him to also have him spiritually fed. It was his second day with the company that he first attended our service. Amazing to see how factories actually allow us to minister to staff IN WORK TIME early in the morning! That’s commitment from owners of businesses.
Many factories in South Africa have either closed down or down scaled their businesses, working shorter hours to save money. All the factories where Bridge Ministries is ministering are still very much in business and in some cases 24 hour shifts are being worked to fill the orders!! – Pieter Barnard
